Caption: | Eric Whitelaw, who had a false left arm, copy of photo dated 1918. Whitelaw served in the Seaforth Highlanders in World War I, when he was severely wounded. He later became a rubber planter in Ceylon. He died at Buckingham Palace in 1953 while waiting to receive the OBE, awarded in the Coronation Honours List for his services to the rubber industry in Ceylon. |
