Is this Balmachree just outside Inverness? Anyone know what year the picture was taken and who is in the picture? Rgds Sandy. ----- SHPA reply: All that is written on the negative envelope is "Mrs Maclennon, Balmachree" and its ref number 129 doesn't help pinpoint a date either. The negative indicates the original photo was supplied to the Paterson Studio to be copied and the people either side of the central figure be removed, with a new print to be made of the older lady by herself. The people are unknown, and Maclennon could be the name of the person requesting the work to be done - not any of the sitters. In the early 60s, my father worked at Balmachree for the farmer who was a Maclennon, but I don't recognise the man in the picture as him.
