| Caption: | Mrs Burton Mackenzie of Kilcoy Castle, Ross-shire. The Kilcoy estates passed through the male line of the Mackenzies of Kilcoy until the death in 1883 of Sir Evan Mackenzie, 2nd Baronet, when they were inherited by his eldest daughter, Isabella Jane. She had been born in Australia and had married Colonel John Edward Burton (1835-1901) on 30th March 1869. The castle was restored from a ruinous condition in about 1891. |
