Rose - Miller wedding outside Inverness Cathedral. Pat Miller served with the Cameron Highlanders during the First World War, and was present at Dunkirk in the Second. He attained the rank of brigadier and won the MC and DSO. He married Milly Rose c1930 and after the Second World War they merged their surnames to be known as Rose-Miller. Copy dates from 1971.

Mrs A.J. Paterson, Catriona, Inverness. Henrietta Davidson (1877-1948) was the wife of Inverness printer-bookseller Alexander John Paterson (1874-1924), on older brother of the famous photographer Andrew Paterson (1877-1948). She is here with her daughter Lilian Balfour Paterson (1910-1960).

Reverend Ewen Macqueen (c1866-1949). Born in the Isle of Skye he married Jessie Campbell. They had four children; Catherine M (d1906), Malcolm C (c1908-1967), Cathie (c1910-1951) and Alice (c1912-1995). Cathie married Samuel Kersten.

Sir Leslie Joseph. Ex-Major Joseph became an amusement park entrepreneur who devised popular water chutes. The first was at Coney Beach (Porthcawl) in 1936. The Porthcawl chute was followed after the war by larger rides at Battersea Fun Fair (London, 1956), Belle Vue (Manchester, 1957) and the Kursaal (Southend-on-Sea, 1958).  He became Managing Director of the Festival Pleasure Gardens in 1951 and was knighted in 1952. In April 1956 he gained, along with restaurant magnate Charles Forte, control of the Belle Vue Zoological Gardens for ?200,000. The 68 acre location contained a major zoo, a 30,000 capacity stadium, the 7,000 seat King's Hall (used for circuses), the 600 ft long exhibition hall and restaurants.
