Mr Kennedy, 48 Crown Street, Inverness. Biographical information kindly provided by Dave Conner.  An officer in the Inverness-shire Constabulary. The only Kennedy to serve in the force in the 20th century was Hugh Kennedy from Glenvarigal, Skye who served 14 years between 1924 and 1938. He was 24 when he joined. He started at Inverness Castle on 25th March 1924 and moved to Portree in March of the following year. He moved back to Inverness in May 1931 and would have continued to have worked in the area around (but outwith) the Burgh until he resigned on 26th April 1938. This portrait was taken in May 1924, soon after he joined up.

Reverend Francis Cronin D.D., Vice Rector of the Scots College, Valladolid, was appointed to St. Mary's Catholic Church in 1918. Dr Cronin interested himself particularly in the cause of Catholic education and served efficiently on the Education Authority and also on the School Management Committee. By his frequent and systematic visitation he endeared himself to his parishioners, while his broad outlook and wide experience rendered him an esteemed member of the community. In 1928 he was promoted to the important charge of Rector of the National Seminary at Blairs.

Lieutenant John Hogg, MC, MM was born in 1887. He served in the Cameron Highlanders 1907 to 1920 and had the rare distinction of winning the Military Medal as a sergeant in 1916 and the Military Cross as an officer in 1919. A very full biography of him is held in the archives of the Highlanders' Museum at Fort George. Submitted by Catherine Cowing.
