John Hogg (second right). Lieutenant John Hogg, MC, MM was born in 1887. He served in the Cameron Highlanders 1907 to 1920 and had the rare distinction of winning the Military Medal as a sergeant in 1916 and the Military Cross as an officer in 1919. A very full biography of him is held in the archives of the Highlanders' Museum at Fort George. Submitted by Catherine Cowing.

Meeting of the Old Contemptibles Association (Aug 5-Nov 22 1914). The Old Contemptibles Association was founded by Capt J.P Danny, RA on 25th June 1925. The Association had 178 branches in the UK and 14 overseas branches. All members were known as 'chums.' The banner in the background now hangs in the Inverness Town House. #
