The photographs were collected by Cook over several decades, and copied onto glass slides for him by the famous photographer Andrew Paterson (1877-1948).

Chalmers and Sons Ltd), traded from the Redhill Garage and could accommodate up to 50 cars. They also held the Ford franchise. He married Christina Ann MacMillan in 1919. She died in Reigate in 1922 and he later married Constance Paterson (1902-1975) of Inverness in 1936, the daughter of famous photographer Andrew Paterson (1877-1948).
