Lilian became an expert horsewoman and married Captain Charles John Shaw-Mackenzie of the Newhall estate at Rosehaugh in 1933. They were known as Major and Mrs Shaw-Mackenzie of Tordarroch, and Lilian resided in Newhall until her death in 1990.
