Jessie Macleod (nee Macrae) with Colin, Lorne, Duncan, Dodo and Ishbel. Jessie was a stage actress (see 26822b - the 1927 production of 'The Geisha'). Her husband was Colin Macleod. This family portrait was taken c1925. The boy Colin Macleod served during WWII in the Royal Navy. After being de-mobbed in 1946, he joined the merchant navy, where he rose to the rank of captain. During the early 1960s, he left the service and became Harbour Master at Inverness. He held this position for several years before re-joining the merchant navy. Lorne Macleod became a dentist and had his own practice in Huntly Street until he emigrated to Australia in 1967. Duncan Macleod also became a dentist with a practice in Boness and later Edinburgh. Donald 'Dodo' Macleod remained in Inverness and played football in his younger days for Inverness Thistle Football Club. Information kindly provided by Jessie's grandson Duncan Phillips.
