Reverend Murdo Smith (1877-1936). Born in Leurbost, Isle of Lewis, he was a teacher and missionary, before entering the ministry in 1922. Married to Margaret Matheson and had four children, Peggy, Dolina, Kenneth and Morag. He was also a bard, and a collection of his Gaelic poetry was published in 2014.
