Alexander MacRae of the Inverness Burgh Police, featuring the cap badge showing a camel and elephant (standing on all fours) as supporters for the Inverness Arms. A January 1948 copy of a photo from c1912. Born c1878 he was a Gamekeeper before joining the Police in 1899. Promoted sergeant in 1920, he retired in 1934. William David Malcolm. Born c1880 and died in 1952 aged 72. He was a hired horse and cab driver for Macrae & Dick, and the driver for Doctor John Wilson Black of 46 Academy Street. It was Doctor George England Kerr who owned the first car in Inverness, but Doctor Black was not to be outdone. He sent William Malcolm to Glasgow for driving lessons, bought a car, and Malcolm became his personal chauffeur. William Malcolm married Catherine W. McMillan (c1907-1992).

John Murray, c/o The Free Presbyterian Manse, 30 Broadstone Park, Inverness. Born at Badbea 14th October 1898. He served with The Black Watch during the First World War, was wounded and lost his right eye in 1918. Post-war he attended the University of Glasgow, this photo taken at about that time. Following his acceptance as a theological student of the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland he pursued further studies in America at Princeton Theological Seminary, but broke with the Free Presbyterian Church in 1930 over that Church's treatment of the Chesley, Ontario congregation. He taught at Princeton for a year and then lectured in systematic theology at Westminster Theological Seminary to generations of students from 1930 to 1966. Murray preached at Chesley and Lochalsh from time to time until his retirement from Westminster in 1968. He married Valerie Knowlton 7th December 1967 and retired to Scotland where he was connected with the Free Church. He eventually returned to Ross-shire and died on 8th May 1975.

Frederick Anthony Hamilton Wills, eldest son of Lord and Lady Dulverton, and Miss Judith Betty Leslie Melville, eldest daughter of the Hon. Ian and Mrs. Leslie Melville. The Bishop of Moray, Ross and Caithness (Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church) officiated, assisted by the Very Rev. A. A. D. Mackenzie, Provost of Inverness Cathedral. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a brown two-piece suit. There were no bridesmaids. The Hon. E. R. H. Wills (brother of the bridegroom) was best man. Francis James Chalmers (1881-1956) was born in Surrey, a twin with sister Margaret. His fathers motor vehicle business established in 1850 (J. Chalmers and Sons Ltd), traded from the Redhill Garage and could accommodate up to 50 cars. They also held the Ford franchise. He married Christina Ann MacMillan in 1919. She died in Reigate in 1922 and he later married Constance Paterson (1902-1975) of Inverness in 1936, the daughter of famous photographer Andrew Paterson (1877-1948).
